Experience
I graduated from Brandeis University with my bachelor's in history. Following that, I studied at Boston University to earn my master's in education with a specialization in English as a Second Language, ESL. Teaching ESL allowed me to meet students from all ends of the Earth, from children to adults. I have spent time teaching students from kindergarten to 12th grade, as well as college-level students. As a tutor, my philosophy is that no matter the age, every student can learn. Through engaging course materials and creative lesson plans, I work hard to impart a love of learning and language upon my students. While my primary focus is ESL/ELL, I also work with students to learn other subjects, such as American history, social studies, European history, and math. I enjoy helping my students prepare for the SAT and ACT exams, among other standardized tests. I teach them test-taking strategies that can help them improve their scores, as well as review materials. Through tutoring, I believe that anyone can improve their knowledge and expand their horizons. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy listening to music from all over the world. I love to dance, particularly classical, and enjoy cooking new things.
